Jocelyn Bravo is a fourth-year student pursuing a major in Economics and Sociology, as well as a minor in Business Administration. She is a part of the Honors College and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. As President of HCAB, Jocelyn is excited to tackle a few projects with her reinstated Advisory Committee and hopes create a more collaborative and communicative environment at HCAB with the help of the members. Jocelyn is also the Speaker of the Assembly for the Undergraduate Student Council and the Webmaster for Economics Club. Aside from these activities, she is also a Research Assistant for the Youth Relationships Study and a Live Training Intern for the National Democratic Training Committee. In her spare time, Jocelyn likes to eat food with friends, scare herself by watching horror movies, and attempt to sew.
Yasmeen Hassoun is a third-year student majoring in Biological Sciences. As a student at UIC, she serves as the Honors College Advisory Board’s (HCAB) Vice President. Yasmeen is also determined to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Syria and encourage others to take action. She is the President of Students Organize for Syria, SOS at UIC.In her spare time, Yasmeen loves to cook, volunteer in her community, and spend time with her family and friends.
Rama Izar is a second-year student double-majoring in Political Science and Spanish. She is also double-minoring in Disability and Human Development and Communication. She is also hoping to pursue law. As the marketing coordinator, Rama is responsible for advertising all events hosted by HCAB, including Tuesday’s with HCAB and the Honors College Ball. In addition to being the secretary/marketing coordinator for the Honors College Advisory Board, Rama is also a volunteer committee member of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, an Honors Ambassador, a Standards Committee member, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Students, and the treasurer of Phi Eta Sigma. She also works at the Honors College Front Desk. With that, some of Rama’s hobbies include singing, discovering new music, playing the ukulele, and baking.
Malake Alazmah is a third-year student currently pursuing a major in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She is a part of the Honors College Advisory Board as Treasurer and is the chair of Publicity and Outreach for Women In Science and Engineering. She is the Vice President of Students Organize for Syria, SOS at UIC. She also currently works as a research assistant at the Department of Chemistry with Professor Wink.
Milen Spegar is currently a sophomore majoring in Accounting. He’s the events coordinator for the Honors College Advisory Board, treasurer for the Serbian Student Organization, and member in both Beta Alpha Psi and Flames Consulting Group. As the events coordinator, he’s excited to organize events that supports Honors College students in both their academic and social endeavours. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching The Office, and playing billiards.
Dana Malo is a second-year student double majoring in biochemistry and economics. As the volunteer coordinator of HCAB, she is responsible for planning volunteering events for the Honors College and maintaining the Honors College compost bin. Dana is also on the executive boards of Students Organize for Syria, the Society of Future Physicians, and the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In her free time, Dana enjoys spending time with her friends and family, discovering new music, and taking hikes.
